Ruto’s Headache: Why Raila’s Can’t Save him in 2027

Former DP Gachagua Predicts Raila’s Weak Political Strategy in Ruto’s 2027 Re-election Bid

While addressing Kenyans living in Seattle, USA, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua described the former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga, as a politician who has lost his support base. “The Kambas who once supported him have withdrawn. The Kisii have stepped away. The Luhyas have distanced themselves. The Maasais are no longer behind him. The Luo community is now split,” Gachagua said.

In President Ruto’s 2027 re-election strategy, he is expected to inherit Raila Odinga’s strongholds—Luo Nyanza, Western Kenya, the Coastal region, and the ODM support base—while Gachagua is rallying Kalonzo Musyoka to deliver the Kamba vote and working to consolidate the Mt. Kenya votes.

Now, the big question remains: Who will clinch the presidency in 2027?
