Former Nandi hills constituency member of the national assembly Hon Alfred Keter had no kind words for deputy president Rigathi Gachagua this evening following his statement that he issued earlier today.

According to Gachagua, the national police service must swing into action and end the continued abuse of alcohol and substance abuse in the Mt Kenya region in particular. He averred that their work is not to engage in politics.

But a seemingly angry Keter who referred to Gachagua as district officer, a position he served under late president Daniel Arap Moi in 1991, told him off and said that eradicating the alcohol issue takes time. He reminded him that it is a process and not an event.

“It (alcoholism) is a process! It is not an event. You have to address the entire social aspect of alcoholism and by the way it can never be eradicated through policing it is a very complex issue Bwana DO (district officer),” he said.
